Governor Ambode Hands Over Security Equipment Worth N1.85 Billion To Security Agencies
To mark the one year of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s administration, on Monday the 23rd of May 2016, Lagosians witnessed the commissioning of series of projects and the handover of security equipment to security agencies in the state, at the Tafa Balewa Square, Lagos Island.
In addition to earlier contributions, the Lagos state government handed over 40 brand new Ford Ranger Pick-Ups and 335 Power Bikes fitted with communication gadgets, Helmets, Bullet Proof vests and other kits to the security agents which includes, the Nigerian Police, the Nigeria Customs, Immigration Services, the Nigeria Army, Airforce, Navy, DSS, AIG Zone 2, Civil Defence, Federal Road Safety Corps, LASTMA, NDLEA, Lagos State Task Force and the Nigeria Prison Services, at a cost of N1.85billion.
Also in attendance was the Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbanjo, who commended the governor for his outstanding achievements in his first year in office.
